Product Description & Working Principle
A holmium laser is a medical device that uses pulses of a holmium laser beam to deliver treatment. Holmium lasers are often used in enucleation of the prostate, a minimally invasive procedure designed to remove the tissue inside the prostate gland located around the urethra (the tube that leads from the bladder to the opening of the urethra).
During holmium laser enucleation of the prostate, the patient is usually under general anesthesia. The doctor introduces the holmium laser into the urethra, and precisely cuts and vaporizes the prostate tissue by controlling the pulse and energy output of the laser beam. This treatment is minimally invasive, resulting in less postoperative pain and recovery time, and smaller incisions than traditional surgical methods.
Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate is widely used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer. Through the precise operation of the holmium laser, the damage to the surrounding tissue can be reduced, and the function of the urethra and the quality of life of the patient can be protected to the greatest extent. This procedure is usually effective in relieving symptoms associated with prostate disease, such as frequent urination, urgency, and dysuria, and improving the patient's urinary flow rate and smoothness of urination.
